Goals, by 2016: Set up a team to work on parish education/formation.
Provide an approach to reaching out to inactive Catholics.
Enhance understanding of prayer in our parishioners' everyday life.
The work of the Formation Ministries includes the development and provision of:
- education and formation opportunities for the parish community
- various approaches for reaching out to inactive Catholics
- new ways to enhance understanding of prayer in our parishioners' everyday life.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF FORMATION COMMITTEE 2014 to June 2015
GOAL #1. Set up a team to work on parish education/formation.
The team was set up last year= ADULT FAITH FORMATION (AFF) TEAM
They are currently working on a CORNERSTONE Retreat for men.
They have presented several events under the CATHOLICISM 101 heading:
*Helped promote/sponsor: retreat of the Epiphany with Catholic Daughters
*Workshop: "The Angels Are Coming"
*Presentation: "Revisiting Vatican II"
*Workshop: "10 Things Pope Francis Wants You To Know"
*Workshop :"Islam 101"
Helped promote/sponsor Catholic Charismatic Prayer Group presentations:
* healing Masses
*Talk: "I Am With You"
*Talk: "Powered By The Holy Spirit"
*Provided weekly bulletin inserts with prayer, daily lectionary-based reflections, throughout both Advent and Lenten Seasons
GOAL #2. Provide an approach to reaching out to inactive Catholics
*Prayers Services were presented at every Mass on a November weekend using the Prayer Basket of names of those we want to return, as a focus.
*The CHURCH OPEN HOUSE was an attempt to invite those who are inactive or those who do not have a church home to visit our church and learn about it.
(Both of the above were collaborative efforts with the Evangelization Committee)
GOAL #3: To enhance understanding of prayer in our parishioners everyday life.
*The Prayer Services mentioned above come under this heading as well.
*Catholic Daughters Retreat
*The Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass connected to the CHRISTMAS CAROLING
*Provided a pamphlet on Lenten prayer practice
*Assisted Young Adult Ministry with a Stations of Cross walk around Ballona Creek
