Eucharistic ministers to the sick are trained to take Holy Communion to our brothers and sisters whose health prevents them from coming to Church. Persons unable to make it to Mass because of illness or infirmity are so grateful for the opportunity to receive Holy Communion; this ministry is a Godsend for many. As a spiritual companion, you visit and pray with them, and most importantly, bring the Eucharist to them.
