GUIDELINES AT ST. JEROME CHURCH
The family and the young woman who request the celebration of the Quinceanera should be mindful of these considerations:
- The family should be a registered parishioner of St. Jerome Parish for at least one year and actively participates in the parish offertory program.
- The young woman and family must meet with our priest/deacon three months prior to the date of the ceremony (Wedding reservation take precedence over Quinceanera request prior to 6 months beyond the ceremony date.)
- The young woman should have received the Sacrament of Baptism, first Communion, and Confirmation, or participating in the parish program in preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
- Since here are usually parts to this ceremony - the religious and the social finances often play a large part in determining the type of celebration a young woman will have. We hope that the family will choose simplicity and moderation with regard to attire and other material facets.
Primary emphasis, however, should always be placed on the religious significance recalling the young woman's baptism, when she was "incorporated into Christ," and her confirmation when she was "signed with the gift of the Spirit so that she might" bear witness to Christ before all the world and eagerly work for the building of the kingdom of God.
