Extended Care Program
St Jerome School Extended Care services are available on campus to all St. jerome School students on all school days. Arrange,emts for Daycare may be made for the full academic year or on a day-to-day basis. Parents taking advantage of yearly rates must have monthly payments in the school office by 3:30 p.m. on the 10th of each month, September through May, in order to avoid a $10.00 late fee. All late pick-ups merit an additional fee of $1.00 per minute after 6:00 p.m., according to the Extended Care clock.
All participants are expected to observe all St. Jerome School policies and to respond to the directions of the supervisory personnel. All participants must be signed out by an authorized adult.
Field Trips
Each classroom teacher may plan an educational field trip to enrich a planned unit of study. Field trip participation is a privilege, which may be denied students who do not meet behavioral or academic requirements. No student will be released from campus for a field trip without written authorization from a parent/legal guardian. Permission over the telephone is not acceptable.
Grading
Reports for children in Kindergarten will be reported by use of checks of skills achieved. Reports for students in Grades 1 & 2 will use a letter scale of O to U. Academic achievement for Grades 3 - 8 will be reported by percentage. Percentages minimize the focus on the letter grades and allow every change in student progress to be reflected. While levels of student effort, class participation and other work habits are not included in the subject grade, they do affect achievement and are reported seperately. Student effor and behavior, in addition to Art, Music, and Physical Education are reported on a letter scale of O to U.
